Buddy
In 2007 SMAWL had an adorable Beagle puppy named Hogan who was quickly adopted to what he thought was his furever home. Unfortunately this was not to be and he came back to SMAWL in the fall of 2014 with a new name - Buddy.
He was now 7 years old and starting to show some age. Despite looking for a new furever home, Buddy just wasn't sure he'd ever find that perfect family. :-( He went to adoption events, and even asked Santa to help him out - to no avail...
He adapted to life with his foster mom and his foster brothers (Rudy, Sonic and Captain Jack Sparrow). He LOVED a good game of catch!
Then on May 9th SMAWL had it's 11th Annual Animal Fair at the St. Mary's County Fairgrounds. Buddy went with the hope of finding that perfect family. He marched in the All-Animal Pet Parade, went to the Blessing of the Pets and he and his foster mom entered the ever favorite Woof-It Down Contest. He won in his weight group! Could you expect anything else from a hound?!!?
Something very special happened at Animal Fair - he met the Meyer family, who had been looking for that perfect family member for about two years. They took their time, and Buddy is so glad they did...
Buddy took his freedom ride to his new furever home. He even has a big sister to play with. She so wanted to stay home from school today to meet him, but she more than made up for it when she got home.
