Cubby (fka Chubby) was originally adopted from SMAWL back in 2007 and is a 9 year old DMH Buff Declawed neutered Male.

On the 18th of December 2014 SMAWL received a phone call from the Hobart (Indiana) Humane Society letting us know that through our microchip, a cat named Chubby was traced back to us. He had been turned in as a stray on the 11th of December. Attempts to contact his adopter were unsuccessful.

We are blessed with a lot of devoted and loving volunteers, 2 of them decided it was time for a road trip, and they made the trip all the way to Indiana to get our boy back!! A special thank you to Zorn & Anita Sliman for bringing Chubby back to us.

Poor Cubby (we removed the H- since he really isn't chubby anymore) was also declawed!

Cubby was so matted when we got him back, that he had to be shaved. He is very good natured, and tolerated being dressed up by our volunteers!

His adventuring days are over and after a short time in foster care, Cubby was adopted and is living the good life as all cats should.
