The St. Mary's Animal Welfare League is a nonprofit, rescue organization that specializes in the rescue, care and placement of abused, neglected and homeless companion animals. Our animals are vaccinated, microchipped, spayed or neutered, and receive medical treatment before being placed in carefully selected homes. We strive to educate the community in areas of humane education and responsible pet ownership, as well as helping to control the pet overpopulation in our area by promoting the spaying and neutering of all companion animals.
The eighth annual SMAWL Animal Fair will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at the St. Mary's County Fairgrounds from 10 AM to 4 PM. For the second year in a row we have extended the time of Animal Fair by one hour so that people who have Saturday morning commitments will have the opportunity to attend and enjoy the festivities.
Shhhh... I'm not available for adoption yet, but I'll be available soon. My name is Suka and I will be looking for my furever home once I get up-to-date on all my vetting. The wonderful family who found me and cared for me until SMAWL was ready to take me in said that I'm a dream; my foster mom agrees. I am approximately one year old and I get along with other dogs (and cats) and am a real sweetheart. I'm housebroken and crate trained and will be available for adoption soon
My name is Irwin and I was abandoned in a bucket in front of True Value when I was six weeks old. I'm now grown and have yet to find that person who is willing to commit to me unconditionally. My foster mom has been working with me on my manners and I'm looking
forward to showing my new family what I have learned. Oh, and my foster mom said I could stand to lose a little weight, but I beg to differ on that. I'm looking for an experienced cat family who already has a cat or dog sibling for me to bond with
Hi ! I'm Marilyn and I am a gorgeous, sleek lady ! I'm a young cat, just a couple of years old and I have been in foster care for a while now. My foster Mom says I am sweet and loving, although I can be a bit shy at first. Once I feel secure I'll be your little shadow ! Won't you give me a chance?
